The Challenge of Following Jesus
It's amazing--tens of millions of Americans say that they don't care much for the organized church, but they really like Jesus. Is it possible that the church has been following a caricatured Jesus--one who has been tamed and Anglicized and politically corrected?
In this series on the gospel of Luke, we go back to the source--a serious historical work based on written records and hundreds of eyewitness accounts. We will try to set aside our preconceptions and see what the facts really say about Jesus. But don't expect Luke to read like a history text: its vivid character portraits, its rich narrative, its use of poetry and songs has caused it to be called "the most beautiful book ever written."
Still, at the heart of it, Luke's book is about Jesus. Where He came from. What He did. What He taught. How He turned the world upside down and changed it forever. The Jesus that even atheists think of as the most significant person of all time. Come and be enthralled by the reality of Jesus.
